The Partnership Continues!

Thornwell in Clinton, SC, has been providing quality services to children and families since 1875. Through the Building Families program, Thornwell is now offering services to families beyond its residential campus. We are thrilled that the partnership between Thornwell and Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church is continuing, and that we have a new Family Specialist ready to resume serving families in our own community: Sara Melton.

What is Building Families?

Building Families is an evidenced-based, intensive in-home program that offers practical, hands-on tools to improve children’s behavior and reduce stress for parents. The program strives to improve communication and healthy family functioning through the use of tested parenting techniques taught by experienced and passionate professionals. Family Specialists are available to meet with participating families in their homes, around their schedules, to provide highly personalized services that are tailored to their unique family needs.
